MTEC music therapists teach preschool classes as part of BAYarts' Mini Mosaics preschool program. Art- and music-based learning is the cornerstone of the program. The preschoolers has a wonderful art show in spring 2017 and Miss Jaime was interviewed for a local article.
Miss Jaime is featured in this video about music therapy, on Elyria City Schools' YouTube channel, "Pioneer TV." This is the 11th school year in which MTEC provided grant-funded services to this teacher's classroom!
As part of our 15th anniversary celebration, MTEC's staff highlighed 15 of our very favorite instruments! We also put all the instruments together in a super fun version of "Put a Little Love in Your Heart!" Check out our YouTube page with our instrument videos!
MTEC was pleased to sponsor a 12U team in the Emerald Necklace Fastpitch Softball league, for the 2016 season. The Avon Eagles finished in first place in their division - great job girls!
This awesome article shows how music therapy is working in a preschool classroom in the Elyria Schools! The teacher, a huge supporter of music therapy, faithfully writes a grant to bring a music therapist into her classroom for around 10 weeks every spring. A teacher in the Rocky River City School District put together this super fun and adorable video as a "thank you" to the music therapist who provided grant-funded services to their district preschool classrooms. We think it is just about the cutest thing we've ever seen!
MTEC, and Co-Director Jaime Alspach, were highlighted in this article in the West Life. Connecting for Kids hosts a yearly Meet and Greet, which is a free event designed for families to learn about local resources, therapies, after-school programs and summer camps. MTEC has a table each year.... just follow the sound of the drums!
